Examples of how domain names can be used -
You could use your domain name to point at a specific web site for example - www.andrewsuk.com
You could use your domain name to point at another web site 'masked' so to the web viewer they are looking at the domain they typed in - www.andrewsuk.co.uk using multiple names , i.e.. .co.uk and .com can prevent your competitors stealing your name or your idea , and avoid expensive legal battles before they occur . We generally advise all UK companies to buy the .com and the .co.uk if possible.

If at a later date you decide to move host or change registration companies if there is no paperwork involved , i.e.. an easy online transfer we do not charge for this , if however it involves a paper document transfer we charge a flat £50 fee per name no matter how much or how little paperwork needs to be processed , i.e.. proof of id to establish right to transfer etc. But generally this does not occur.
