Coming-of-age comedy WE'VE GOT THE TOASTER follows the misadventures of a socially awkward teenager who finds sudden popularity. With his parents away for the weekend, the pressure's on for 16 year old Lance (Jamie Mander) to throw a party to end all parties and to get Steph (Emma Blake)--the object of his obsessions--to notice him. But the clueless teen is way out of his depth, never having successfully hosted a party on this scale before. Needless to say, with no girls, no idea, and only 24 hours to get everything sorted, festivities don't go exactly according to plan... We've got the toaster is as much about what happens before and after a party as what happens during one. The preparation, the anticipation, the acceleration of an evening in full swing. The unscriptable chaos, the sleep-over, and the cold light of the next morning! But it's also an uplifting personal story of how - by daring to step out of his safety zone - an awkward boy is captured out of the loneliness of living in his head into a social life. We've got the toaster has been described as Skins Vs American Pie! |
