We are going to put a whole load of useful information and help on these pages for people just starting out in the big bad world of the web ! We are going to have some basic tutorials and helpful links for you to use !
There will be Questions and Answers on how does the web work , how do I get a web site ? Where does my web site actually live etc. !
Let's start at the beginning !
First you need a computer to be looking at the web , we will assume as you are looking at this page you either have one , or access to someone else's at the moment !
You need to be able to connect to the web via an ISP - that is an internet service provider , basically what they are are people with permanent 'big' connections to the web itself , and you hook onto the web via these people either using a modem and telephone line , or a broadband / cable connection !
Here are some companies you may wish to consider using , we suggest looking at each company and what they can offer you as an individual or company on a cost and service basis -
We use BT broadband for one of our set ups and can honestly say they are the fastest and most reliable connections we have , better than our permanent cable connection in fact.
