Beechwood were an acoustic duo formed in 2004, originally Niv and Chris were going to call themselves, The Chumleys and go out performing comical songs. This never really progressed because they'd got into a more serious side of writing. Whilst gigging at local pubs and folk clubs around the Midlands they were getting comments from people on how good the music was and how great it would sound with a full line up, this got Niv and Chris thinking about the further possibilities of getting a band together. Robin Crump a local singer/songwriter teamed up with them in January 2008, 6 months later Pete Taylor heard some songs by Beechwood and liked what he heard and joined, although a blues bass player he's fitted in with the folky type music of the band. Pete Lovatt came along a month later and even though he's come from a rock/metal playing background as fitted in nicely with the Beechwood sound. The band is now complete and playing a mixture of folk/rock/pop and anything else they can throw in the mixing bowl of music. You could call it frock music!!! |
